Google Breaks Ground on Sustainable Sweden Data Center

Google is bringing jobs, clean energy commitments, and community investment to a small Swedish town with a data center built for sustainability from the ground up.

The tech giant broke ground in Horndal, Sweden, on a facility designed to meet growing demand for Search, Google Cloud, and YouTube services. The center will create 100 direct jobs and marks Google's first data center investment in the country, two decades after opening its first Swedish office in 2004.

Google isn't new to supporting Sweden's clean energy transition. Since 2013, the company has helped add more than 700 megawatts of renewable energy to the country's power grid, enough to power hundreds of thousands of homes.
