Men's denim jeans on store shelf made from recycled textile waste fibers

H&M Launches Jeans Made from Recycled Clothing Waste

🤯 Mind Blown

Your old t-shirts could become your new favorite jeans. H&M just launched a men's denim collection made with fibers recycled from textile waste, proving sustainable fashion can work at global scale.

The fashion industry just took a major step toward solving its massive waste problem, and the solution is already on store shelves.

H&M has released its first men's denim collection featuring jeans made with 30% recycled textile waste. The two-style collection launched in July 2026 across stores in the UK, Scandinavia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, marking the first time recycled textile technology has entered a major retailer's standard product line.

The breakthrough comes from Circ, a recycling technology company that transforms old clothing into pulp that can become new fabric. Working with fiber producer Lenzing and manufacturer AGI Denim, they created a complete supply chain that turns textile waste into quality jeans indistinguishable from traditional denim.

"This launch is proof that recycled textile fiber is ready for mass market supply chains," says Peter Majeranowski, Circ's CEO. The project validates that next-generation recycled materials can move through existing manufacturing systems while meeting the quality standards global retailers demand.

Each garment contains TENCEL Limited Edition Lyocell fibers made with Circ's recycled pulp combined with REFIBRA technology. The jeans look, feel, and perform like conventional denim, but they give new life to clothing that would otherwise end up in landfills.

The Ripple Effect

This isn't just about two styles of jeans. It's about proving an entirely new model for fashion can work at scale.

The textile industry produces massive amounts of waste each year, with millions of tons of clothing ending up discarded. Traditional recycling methods often downgrade materials into lower-quality products, but this technology maintains fabric quality through multiple cycles.

By integrating recycled content into their standard collection rather than a special sustainable line, H&M signals that circular fashion isn't a niche market anymore. It's simply how clothing can be made.

Caroline Ledl, Senior Director of Product Operations at Lenzing Group, emphasizes the importance of collaboration. "Bringing together players of all steps across the textile supply chain will result in circular garments available to consumers," she says.

The products are available now on HM.com and in select stores across all launch markets. Shoppers buying these jeans are supporting a system where clothing doesn't have an end, just a new beginning.
