Holocaust Survivor Gives First Hebrew Speech at UN

After the shooting, young Sara fled to the forest with her father and two sisters. On the day the war ended, villagers murdered her father. The three orphaned girls were left to survive alone.

Weinstein eventually made her way to a kibbutz in Israel, where she rebuilt her life from the ashes of tragedy. She married, raised children, and now celebrates grandchildren and great-grandchildren who stood with her at the UN.

Her message to the assembly carried urgent weight. "The Holocaust didn't start with the gas chambers; it started with words, incitement, propaganda, jokes, accusations, and indifference," she said. "And today, I see it again."

UN Ambassador Danny Danon praised the historic Hebrew testimony. "Silence in the face of antisemitism is a moral failure," he declared, emphasizing that "never again" must become action, not just a slogan.
