Ireland Tech Firm Creates 200 Jobs in Donegal Region

Young people in Burnfoot, Ireland won't have to choose between career and home anymore, thanks to a major jobs announcement that's giving families real hope for the future.

Vertiv, a global technology company, is creating 200 jobs across Ireland's North West region. Eighty of those positions will be based in Burnfoot, Donegal, a community that has long watched its young people leave to find opportunities elsewhere.

The new roles span manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, and support functions. Vertiv is hiring electricians, panel wirers, mechanical fitters, and general operators to expand production of electrical switchgear for data centers worldwide.

"This means young people can see a future for themselves here at home," said local councillor Joy Beard. "It means skilled workers don't have to leave the peninsula to build a career."

The expansion is driven partly by surging demand for data center infrastructure as AI technology grows. Vertiv operates in more than 130 countries and already employs over 2,000 people across Ireland.

When a company adds 80 jobs to a small town, the impact reaches far beyond the factory floor. Local shops will see more customers, service businesses will grow, and confidence in the region's economic future will strengthen.
