Khatu Shyam Temple Gets Railway Station for Millions

Millions of pilgrims traveling to one of India's most cherished temples will soon have a much easier journey thanks to a new railway station coming to Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently announced the station after meeting with temple trust representatives from Sikar, Rajasthan. The project gained momentum when North Western Railway General Manager Pankaj Sharma inspected the proposed site and reviewed development plans.

The station will serve the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of devotees annually, especially during the Falgun Mela festival. Pilgrims travel from six states including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and across Rajasthan to visit the revered shrine.

The new station will sit on the Sikar-Ringas rail section between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations, just 11 kilometers from the temple. This location will dramatically reduce the road travel time devotees currently face after arriving by train.

Construction plans include modern passenger facilities wrapped in traditional Rajasthani architectural design. Land identification has already begun, signaling the project is moving from announcement to action.
