Kia Launches 3 Performance EVs Starting at $37,000

Kia is proving that electric performance doesn't have to break the bank. The automaker launched three new GT models in Korea this week, with prices starting at just $37,000.

The EV3 GT, EV4 GT, and EV5 GT hit Korean showrooms on Monday, each packed with features that transform standard electric vehicles into performance machines. All three models now include all-wheel drive, sport-tuned bumpers, and signature neon-colored brake calipers mounted on 20-inch wheels.

Under the hood, the EV3 and EV4 GT combine a 145 kW front motor with a 70 kW rear motor for serious acceleration. The larger EV5 GT gets an even beefier 155 kW front motor paired with the same rear setup.

Inside, drivers find sport seats, upgraded Harman Kardon sound systems, and special driver displays. Kia even added a virtual gearshift system and artificial engine sounds to recreate the visceral feel of traditional sports cars.

The pricing makes these vehicles particularly compelling. The EV3 GT starts at $37,000, the EV4 GT at $38,000, and the EV5 GT at $39,000. Korean buyers can also save up to $1,200 through trade-in programs.

The Ripple Effect

This launch signals a broader shift in the electric vehicle market toward accessible performance. By bringing GT features to mid-priced models, Kia is proving that exciting electric cars don't need six-figure price tags. The move could push other automakers to make performance EVs more attainable for everyday drivers.

The company plans to expand these models to Europe, the UK, and other global markets throughout 2026. While American buyers won't see these specific models stateside, Kia is currently offering $10,000 bonuses across its entire US electric lineup.
