LA Galaxy Adds 6th Star to Jersey After Historic MLS Win
Soccer's most successful MLS team is updating its jersey design to celebrate a championship legacy no other club can match. The LA Galaxy will debut a fresh look in 2026 that honors all six of their league titles with a unified star display.
The LA Galaxy are making room on their jerseys for one more symbol of excellence.
The team announced they'll add a sixth star above their crest for the 2026 season, celebrating their latest MLS Cup championship in 2024. With six titles in 10 championship appearances, the Galaxy remain Major League Soccer's most decorated club.
The new design creates a balanced look with three silver stars on each side of the crest. Last year's jerseys had to squeeze in the sixth star awkwardly above the others because production timelines didn't allow for a full redesign.
"The six stars represent more than championships, they represent a legacy of leadership, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of greatness," said Tom Braun, the team's President and Chief Operating Officer. The design leaves space for future additions too.
The Galaxy have been celebrating their victories with stars since 2003, though the style has evolved over time. From 2016 to 2018, they used a single gold star to represent all five championships, but switched back to individual silver stars in 2019 to honor each title's unique story.
Their championship years span more than two decades: 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012, 2014, and now 2024. The next closest competitor, D.C. United, has four titles, all won between 1996 and 2004.
Why This Inspires
Sports teach us that excellence isn't about one perfect moment. It's about showing up consistently, learning from setbacks, and building something that lasts. The Galaxy's six stars tell a story about sustained success across different eras, different players, and different challenges.
Their journey reminds us that greatness takes time to build. Each star represents not just a championship game, but years of practice, teamwork, and dedication from countless people working toward a shared dream.
Fans will see the new jerseys when the Galaxy kick off their 2026 season on February 22 against New York City FC at home. The stars shine brightest when there's still room to add more.
