Montana State Women's Golf Reaches Championship Final

Four Montana State golfers delivered clutch performances on Tuesday to send their team to the Mountain Classic Match Play championship game.

The Bobcats defeated Washington State 4-1 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, California, advancing to face Nevada for the tournament title. Lauren Greeny, Maddie Montoya, Eva Heinz, and Norah Seidl all secured individual victories to power Montana State's win.

Greeny set the tone early with a dominant 6&5 victory over her opponent, winning the first three holes and never trailing. Her commanding performance gave the Bobcats their first point of the day and momentum heading into the remaining matches.

Montoya followed with a 3&2 win after a tight start. She won holes seven and eight to take control of her match, then sealed the victory with back-to-back wins on holes 12 and 13.

Seidl clinched the championship berth for Montana State with a hard-fought 2&1 victory. After falling behind early, she battled back with crucial wins on holes 14 and 15 to secure the team's third point.

Heinz added the final point with a 3&1 win, building an early lead by winning five of the first seven holes. Despite her opponent's late rally, Heinz closed out the match on hole 17.
