Nevada Team Wins U.S. Little League Championship

Thirteen kids from Henderson, Nevada just punched their ticket to the Little League World Series championship game, and their community couldn't be prouder.

Paseo Verde Little League dominated Ohio 12-2 on Saturday to capture the United States Championship. The Henderson-based squad now faces Curaçao on Sunday for the ultimate prize: a world title.

The journey started back in February with tryouts. These 13 players emerged from roughly 2.5 million Little League players across the United States, working through spring training and months of competition to reach this moment.

"There's 13 kids that are now the champs, the best in the United States. That's pretty cool," said Matt Estrada from the Little League organization.

Back home in Henderson, fans packed a local movie theater to watch the game together. Parents, cousins, fellow Little Leaguers, and even a City Council candidate showed up to support their hometown heroes on the national stage.

This team's success radiates far beyond wins and losses. Young players across Henderson now see what's possible when dedication meets opportunity. Local leagues will likely see increased interest from kids inspired by watching their neighbors compete at the highest level.
