New Biogas Giant Mobius Renewables Launches Across 4 Nations

Mobius Renewables completed its acquisition of Air Liquide's biogas operations on May 4, bringing together 12 production sites across the United States, France, Norway, and Sweden. The newly formed company, backed by IFM Investors, now operates as one of the world's leading renewable natural gas producers.

The combined operations include six landfill gas conversion sites in the US, five farm waste facilities in France, and majority ownership in Redo Biosolutions serving Scandinavia. Together, these sites generate over 5.5 million MMBtu of renewable natural gas every year by capturing methane from landfills and transforming agricultural waste through anaerobic digestion.

This isn't just another corporate merger. It represents a coordinated global effort to capture greenhouse gases that would otherwise enter the atmosphere and transform them into clean fuel for homes, businesses, and vehicles.

President and CEO Cynthia Walker welcomed teams from all four countries as the company officially launched under one unified brand. The Houston-based company maintains offices across its international operations, positioning itself to expand through both new project development and strategic acquisitions. IFM Investors established Mobius in December 2025 specifically to scale renewable natural gas production across North America and Europe.
