Nigerian Troops Rescue 4 Kidnap Victims in Swift Operation

Four kidnapped people walked free on April 28 after Nigerian troops chased down their captors and rescued them following a firefight in Enugu State. The victims, who included two locals and two people from neighboring states, were reunited with their families unharmed.

Troops from Operation Udoka's 82 Division acted quickly after receiving a tip about a kidnapping along the Akama–Iwollo Road. They pursued the criminals and successfully freed Chisom Kingsley, Chuoke Chinedu, Jonathan Paul Chukwu, and Patience John.

The rescue operation recovered a motorcycle and vehicle used in the crime. All evidence and the rescued individuals were handed to Nigerian Police for further investigation.

The same intelligence work led to another breakthrough in Ebonyi State. Troops arrested a key member of a criminal network known as "Baron," whose information helped authorities locate hidden weapons including an AK-47 rifle, magazines, and ammunition.
