Ohio Hospital Celebrates Cancer Survivors June 24
OhioHealth Marion General Hospital will welcome cancer survivors and their loved ones to its annual celebration on June 24, honoring every stage of the cancer journey. The free evening includes dinner, entertainment, portraits, and a chance to connect with fellow survivors and care teams.
Cancer survivors across Marion, Ohio, have a special evening waiting for them this June.
OhioHealth Marion General Hospital will host its annual Cancer Survivor Celebration on June 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tri-Rivers Career Center. The free event welcomes anyone who has faced cancer, whether currently in treatment, finished with treatment, or in remission.
The celebration brings together survivors, their loved ones, and the medical teams who walked alongside them through treatment. Guests will enjoy a catered dinner from River Valley Lunch Bunch, live entertainment, and complimentary photo portraits to mark the occasion.
The evening also features speakers who share their own cancer journeys, plus door prizes throughout the event. Each survivor can bring one guest to share in the celebration.
"Every path through cancer is different, and every survivor deserves to be celebrated for their strength and resilience," said Lucinda Pfeifer, Program Manager at OhioHealth Marion Cancer Services. The hospital designed the event to honor courage at every stage of the cancer experience.

The Ripple Effect
Events like this create powerful connections that extend far beyond one evening. When survivors gather to share their stories, they build a community of hope that supports newly diagnosed patients facing uncertainty.
The celebration reminds current patients that survivorship is possible and that they're not alone in their fight. Care teams also get to witness the long-term impact of their work, seeing patients thrive months or years after treatment ends.
These connections often lead to lasting friendships, support networks, and mentorship relationships that help the next wave of cancer patients navigate their own journeys with greater confidence.
Registration is requested by June 10 to help organizers plan for food and materials. Survivors can RSVP by calling (740) 375-6070 or visiting the OhioHealth website at OhioHealth.com/MarionCancerSurvivorshipCelebration.
This June, Marion will celebrate not just survival, but the strength, community, and hope that make healing possible.
