Passerby Rescues Disabled Resident from Chattanooga Fire

A stranger driving through a Chattanooga neighborhood became a lifesaver when they noticed something wrong and didn't keep driving.

On Lindsay Street Tuesday afternoon, a passerby spotted smoke pouring from a home and immediately stopped to help. Inside were two disabled residents who needed urgent assistance to escape the growing danger.

Without hesitation, the Good Samaritan helped one of the residents out of the burning house and called 911. By the time Chattanooga firefighters arrived at 2:44 PM, the most vulnerable person was already safe outside.

Firefighters found flames tearing through the garage and quickly spreading toward the attic. Crews made aggressive interior attacks to stop the fire before it consumed the entire structure. Just 34 minutes after the first call, at 3:18 PM, the blaze was completely extinguished.
