Teen Olympian Indra Brown Wins Freeski Halfpipe World Title

Sixteen-year-old Indra Brown is turning her Olympic experience into pure gold on the slopes.

The Australian freeskier took home the Freeski Halfpipe Junior World Championship title in Calgary on Thursday, less than a month after finishing fifth at her first Olympic Games in Milano Cortina. Brown earned a score of 92.00 for a flawless second run that left eight competitors behind her.

Her winning performance featured a technical showcase: a right cork 900 tail grab, a left side 720, a switch right 540, switch left 720, and an alley oop 540 on her final hit. The judges awarded her the highest score of the day after she cleaned up small mistakes from her already strong first run.

Brown arrived in Calgary already leading the World Cup standings in her rookie season. She's claimed three podium finishes this year, including her first World Cup victory in the same Calgary venue just two months ago.

American skier Alexander Swedenborg also celebrated a breakthrough moment in the men's final. The 17-year-old earned his first career victory with an 88.50 score, besting teammate Mack Winterberger and New Zealand's Cooper Breen.
