Texas School District Jumps From B to A Rating

Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency this month, jumping from a B the previous year. The district, which serves students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, scored 91 out of 100 points overall.

Students excelled in achievement measures like graduation rates and state test scores, earning the district 91 points in that category. The district also scored 91 in closing achievement gaps between different student groups, showing that success is reaching everyone.

Of the district's 18 campuses, 11 earned A ratings individually. Six schools received B ratings, and only one campus scored a C. That kind of consistency across so many schools suggests the improvements aren't just happening in one or two standout locations.

Texas evaluates its school districts using three main categories: what students learn, how they progress over time, and whether the district is helping all groups of students succeed. The system also looks at how well schools prepare students for life after graduation, whether that means college, careers, or military service.
