Thousands of people living with a heart condition that leaves them exhausted and breathless just got a powerful new treatment option.

The UK approved Myqorzo, a daily pill for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition where heart muscle becomes thick and stiff. This makes it harder for the heart to pump blood properly, leaving patients struggling with chest pain, dizziness, and irregular heartbeats that make simple activities feel impossible.

Around 6,600 people in England can now access the treatment. That might sound like a small number, but for those living with this condition, it represents real hope for doing everyday things like climbing stairs or playing with grandchildren without feeling like their heart might give out.

The pill works by reducing excessive heart muscle contractions, allowing the heart to pump more smoothly. Clinical trials showed patients could exercise more easily and their debilitating symptoms improved significantly.
