Energy Secretary Ed Miliband celebrated the shift as Britain "taking back control of its energy" during uncertain times. The expansion also included approval of Springwell Solar Farm, set to become the country's largest solar power plant, and the rollout of plug-in solar panels for balconies and small outdoor spaces.
