California Brewery Honors Youth Camp Founder with Hard Seltzer

When Allison Hales started Culture Club South Bay six years ago, she probably didn't imagine a brewery would one day name a drink after her work. But that's exactly what happened this week at Culture Brewing Co. in Manhattan Beach.

The brewery launched its Community Hero Hard Seltzer on April 23rd to honor Hales, who runs a beach camp for kids ages 8 to 13 from across Los Angeles County. For the next month, proceeds from every papaya mango seltzer sold will go directly to Culture Club South Bay.

Hales founded the camp to give young people a safe space to learn surfing, play on the beach, and grow together. The program brings together children from different backgrounds and neighborhoods across LA County, creating connections that might never happen otherwise.

Culture Brewing Co. created the Community Hero series specifically to spotlight people making a real difference in the South Bay area. Hales is the latest local changemaker to receive this recognition and the financial boost that comes with it.

What started as one woman's vision to teach kids how to surf has grown into something much bigger. Culture Club South Bay now serves as a bridge between communities, giving children from all over Los Angeles County access to beach activities they might not otherwise experience.
