The partnership brings together two strengths. Deep Science Ventures specializes in building new companies from scratch, while Medicines Discovery Catapult offers drug discovery expertise and infrastructure. Together, they'll identify gaps in current brain-entry technologies and create solutions.

Their first step involves mapping the current landscape of brain-targeted medicines. Once they spot opportunities for innovation, they'll recruit founding teams to launch new companies focused on the most promising approaches. Those ventures will receive pre-seed funding to get started.

The partnership also strengthens the ecosystem for brain research innovation. By combining venture-building with drug discovery, they're creating what Tomassi-Russell calls "a frictionless environment" for founders tackling this complex problem.
